Grand Opening of the Mexican American Cultural Center in El Paso, Texas

The Mexican American Cultural Center officially opened its doors on March 22 in El Paso, Texas.

The center provides many opportunities to bring the community together with different classes and activities.

The MACC is open from Wednesday-Saturday 10 a.m-6p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Hey Miners, it is the first episode for the Summer of 2023! On this month’s podcast, we speak about Pride month. Rosita the drag queen, opens about their identity and journey as a drag queen. Wesley Lawrence from the Borderland Rainbow Center speaks about the resources the center provides for the El Paso community. Erik Acosta shares his experience about coming about and being a part of the LGBTQ+ community. It is important to remember that Pride month is not celebrated in June but also year-round.

The LGBTQ+ community across El Paso celebrates Pride month through different events hosted by Sun City Pride, a local organization. "Born This Way" is the 18th annual Pride parade which gathered the LGBTQ+ community to walk across central El Paso to express pride and acceptance for the borderland community.
